Saravana specialises in tax law and was recently named as one of the top 100 lawyers in Malaysia by Asia Law Business Journal. He has appeared in benchmark litigations with a sizeable volume of wins in tax disputes. Praised for his ability to “think outside the box” and “innovative approach” in interpreting the law, Chambers Asia Pacific 2020 commented that "the depth of his technical and legal knowledge, together with his commercial awareness, makes him an invaluable resource on all things tax-related". He is ranked as a Band 1 tax lawyer by Chambers Asia Pacific 2020 and a Leading Individual by Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2020.
In 2018, Saravana was named as one of the 40 top lawyers under 40 years old in Asia by the Asian Legal Business. He is an Adjunct Professor with Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and chairs the Taxation Section of LAWASIA. He is also a member of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee 2020/2021 term, where he chairs the Professional Development Committee.

Saravana, a Chevening scholar, holds an LL.M in Tax from the London School of Economics and an M.Sc in Development Planning from University College London.
